Pink Marble Cake

Cover cake with buttercream using semi naked method of icing.
Pink marble cake. Sift the cake flour baking powder and salt together in a large bowl. Spray or lightly butter two 9 inch cake pans. Two 8 cakes or 24 cupcakes. This cake takes different shades of pink icing to create a marble like effect on the exterior of the cake and gold foil is used to bring shine to this design.
Heat the oven to 180c 160c fan gas 4. Fresh roses and pink macaroons adorn this dessert that can be a showstopper at any party. As a change from having chocolate marble cake you can make just about any colour of marble cake that you like out of my soft basic vanilla cake recipe. 15 minutes bake time.
Drip chocolate ganache around the sides and over the top of the cake. Place cake onto cake stand. Preheat oven to 350 f 177 c. Arrange marbled chocolate decorations gilded berries and candied lemon slices on top of the cake.
I love adding pink but you can choose any one or two colours of your choice. This one is strawberry and vanilla flavoured. Butter and line the bases of two 18cm sandwich tins. 35 to 40 minutes.
